The Biewer Terrier is a small, long-coated toy terrier with a white, blue, and gold or white, black, and gold parti-color pattern. The hair falls straight, and the tail is well plumed.

A tiny, long-coated companion who fits an apartment; daily coat care and a brighter voice than his size suggests.

The Biewer Terrier was developed in Germany from piebald Yorkshire Terriers. It is now recognized as its own breed rather than as a Yorkie color variety.

Temperament

Biewers are typically playful, attached to their people, and busy for their size. They can be vocal and do not always enjoy rough play.

Training

They learn household manners if training stays gentle. Keep sessions short.

Care and grooming

The long coat mats if it is not brushed to the skin daily. Many owners keep a shorter puppy clip.

Health

As with other tiny terriers, patellar luxation, tracheal collapse, and dental crowding can occur. Use a harness.
